Ending the year with no money and a lack of funds is something that we must avoid at all costs. We want to end the year not only mentally but also as financially stable as possible.
I am going to give you a few tips that will leave you in control of your money before the year ends. This time of year is the best to reset and review your finances so that you will know where you stand before the year ends.
REVIEW YOUR SPENDING HONESTLY: Before you can improve your spending, you have to know where your money goes. Look back at your expenses and ask:
- Where is my money actually going?
- What purchases made me happy?
- What expenses can I reduce or eliminate?
Being aware of where you stand is the first step to get your finances in order.
- CUT THREE NON-ESSENTIAL EXPENSES: You will need to cut back on things that are not really necessary and have no value. Remove the subscriptions you are not using, unplanned shopping, and purchases that are not needed. Not everything has to go, but removing one or two items will help keep your pockets filled.
- EDUCATE YOURSELF WEEKLY: Learning and acquiring financial knowledge will ensure your growth and make you better. Read a book on budgeting, investing, and money for at least 30 minutes a day. Additionally, consider watching YouTube videos and listening to podcasts.
- CREATE A YEAR-END SAVINGS GOAL: Target an amount you want to have saved or an amount you want in your investment portfolio by the end of December. Now it is just 30 days away, so don’t aim for something that isn’t visible. Let it align with your current reality. Break it down weekly; goals are usually visible when it is weekly.
- AUTOMATE YOUR MONEY: When you automate your money, a certain amount of money can go into savings and investment contributions without you trying or doing anything. This will help you stay consistent with your goals and become better at money management.
- MONETIZE ONE SKILL: One of the best ways to get ahead in your finances is to make more money. Monetize, one skill you have through social media and make more money. This will add one more source to your income stream.
- PRACTICE A HEALTHY MONEY MINDSET: Your mindset can make or break your reality. If your mindset isn’t good, your reality won’t be good either. Say money affirmations every day and fix your money mindset, and you will become better with your money.
- PLAN FOR NEXT YEAR EARLY: Don’t go into the next year without a plan. Start from this year to plan how you will make more money and budget for next year. Set your money intention from now so that you can become better by next year.
Ending the year strong financially isn’t about perfection; it is about making small, intentional habits that will set you up for life. Getting intentional with your money and finances will help you become more financially stable and better with money. Read more books and take control of your finances. GOODLUCK!
